Bite quarantine – Victim bitten on 03/23/26 by a stray black German shepherd on left forearm while walking past space 73. She was taken to doctors hospital and treated for wounds for one puncture laceration and multiple scratches from teeth.
We don’t know all the circumstances surrounding this bite incident, but Dorothy deserves a second chance with the years she has left to find a family that will love her forever.
Black beauty Dorothy may show her age by her gray muzzle and specks of gray hair in her body coat, but this senior girl still has some spunk to her. She enjoys pets from humans and loves for you to give her attention.
Shelter Notes: Dorothy acts very young. She is a strong girl who will pull on the leash, but walks well. She likes to be outside, but also wants people to be in the yard with her. She LOVES treats and will eat the whole bag if you let her. When petting Dorothy there seems to be some discomfort when touching under her belly, she will low growl. She is potty trained.
Dorothy was put into playgroup with other dogs and did well, she was not reactive to them and coexisted with the group. Not showing much interest. There was 2-3 moments she would growl, possibly for space but it did not escalate. She has plenty of potential to coexist with other dogs. Would suggest to families with other dogs to feed her separate from other dogs in the home at this time. Videos and pics coming soon.
