MISUNDERSTOOD AND IN DANGER![]()

Ruckus came to the shelter with his friend Poppy. They were brought to the shelter when officers entered a marijuana grow site and found them chained to the fence. On the chain, Ruckus put on his scariest face: lunging, growling, baring teeth. He didn’t know who to trust and was just trying to protect himself
That behavior continued here at the shelter in his kennel. After such a traumatic life, who could blame him?
But then he was brought outside and was A BRAND NEW DOG!! ![]()
Per the staff member who took Ruckus outside, “We did let him relax in the yard for about an hour and then we went back to see if we could handle him. I attempted to pet him and he allowed me to touch his head and his body, after I stopped petting him he would nuzzle my hand for more pets and sought out affection. He was easy to put back, I had no problems. He went back into the kennel easily and he allowed me to take the leash off of him. Knows “sit” and loves treats. He is a very good boy and has a lot of potential.”
He is just a scared boy who wants to be loved ![]()
Ruckus tested best with female dogs. He did not seem very interested in the male and would stiffen up when the male would sniff his face. He was very interested in the first female we tested him with (belle) he tried to mount her, but would not leave her alone. The second female we tested him with (pippy) was a lot better, did try to mount a couple times but was easily corrected. He was able to coexist in the yard with her with no issues.
Can anyone give this boy a chance to rewrite his story? It’s what he deserves ![]()
